Re-Re-scheduled Zoning Hearing for 86th and Lafayette Gas Station

Murphy’s Law strikes: four Board of Zoning Appeals Division 2 members showed up at yesterday’s meeting. Unfortunately, the vote was 2-2 regarding our appeal. The case is now transferred to the Board of Zoning Appeals Division 3 and will be heard on Tuesday, January 19th at 1:00pm in the Public Assembly Room on the 2nd floor of the City-County Building (I think by now we all now the time, room and address right?).

Re-scheduled Zoning Hearing for 86th and Lafayette Gas Station

Only 2 Zoning Board members showed up for the December meeting and, once again, no binding decision on this issue could be issued. The Zoning Board is again scheduled to hold a meeting (where hopefully a quorum of board members will deign to actually show up) on Tuesday, January 12th at 1:00pm in the Public Assembly Room, 2nd Floor of the City-County Building, 200 East Washington St. You can find a list of parking locations here.

Zoning Hearing for Proposed 86th and Lafayette Gas Station

The rescheduled meeting of the Metropolitan Board of Zoning Appeals Division II will be on Tuesday, December 8th at 1:00pm in the Public Assembly Room on the 2nd floor of the City-County Building (200 E. Washington Street). If you’re not familiar with this area of downtown, this list of locations to park may be helpful.

The Board will hear two appeals regarding the proposed gas station at 86th Street and Lafayette Road:

  1. Improvement Location Permet (2015-AP2-001)
  2. Flood Permit (2015-AP2-002)

At the previous Board meeting, the vote was 2-1 in favor of the opposition to the gas station. Unfortunately, 3 votes are needed for any Board action to be official and only three Board members were present at that meeting.

The Board has the authority  to revoke the issued permits and stop the proposed gas station. Please come and support the appeal if you can.
