Fundraiser to Support Fight Against Gas Station

A group of Hunt Club area neighbors are continuing the fight against the zoning change allowing the gas station/strip mall at the corner of 86th Street and Lafayette Road (across from Fishback Creek Public Academy) as well as defending the denial of an alcohol permit. A fundraiser has been organized to help support the legal costs for this fight and will be this weekend on Saturday, October 1st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the corner of 85th Street and Lafayette Road.

There will be food, dessert, a silent auction, a jump house for kids, a 50/50 raffle, face painting and more. All proceeds will go to the Greater Historic Traders Point nonprofit.

More information on the proposed development and it’s potential impact on this part of the Hunt Club area can be found on the 86th and Lafayette Road website. RSVPs can be sent to SAVEOURCORNER@OUTLOOK.COM.

Re-Re-scheduled Zoning Hearing for 86th and Lafayette Gas Station

Murphy’s Law strikes: four Board of Zoning Appeals Division 2 members showed up at yesterday’s meeting. Unfortunately, the vote was 2-2 regarding our appeal. The case is now transferred to the Board of Zoning Appeals Division 3 and will be heard on Tuesday, January 19th at 1:00pm in the Public Assembly Room on the 2nd floor of the City-County Building (I think by now we all now the time, room and address right?).

Re-scheduled Zoning Hearing for 86th and Lafayette Gas Station

Only 2 Zoning Board members showed up for the December meeting and, once again, no binding decision on this issue could be issued. The Zoning Board is again scheduled to hold a meeting (where hopefully a quorum of board members will deign to actually show up) on Tuesday, January 12th at 1:00pm in the Public Assembly Room, 2nd Floor of the City-County Building, 200 East Washington St. You can find a list of parking locations here.
